Political Map of Europe 2040

Published:
9.7K Views

Description

A detailed map of Europe based in the future. This map shows topography in a vintage style and is perfect for a wall poster. This map also shows trade routes, flooding due to climate change and high-speed railways. This future scenario is based on a wave of independence for countries such as Scotland and Catalonia, as well as devolution in many regions. The partial breakup of Russia has also been noted.

This map does not represent my views or political beliefs, and is only an attempt at an unbiased prediction of the future.

All feedback is greatly appreciated. Let me know if you have any questions or critiques. Physical map from the same scenario: procrastinating2much.deviantar…

As a Russian I can appreciate the last point.

1.) The probability of separation of Karelia is almost zero. If only because the share of ethnic Karelians in its population (according to the 2010 census) is only 7.4%. And it continues to decline as a result of assimilation.

2.) In Tatarstan, the situation is more complicated, but even there the likelihood of active separatism is not high.

3.) The most dangerous, in this sense, of course, the Caucasus. But here the situation directly depends on the general situation in the country and the stability of the central government.

In addition, the existence of Novorussia as a separate state seems very strange to me. In the event of its separation from Ukraine, it will simply become part of Russia.
